Yes there is, I even have a Git branch starting to investigate this.
However, the architectural changes between multiverse-beta and
multiverse seem to be more than just a few changes of class name, and I
ran out of time in a little window of opportunity I had to understand
all the changes so as to properly fix GPars. Václav has not had a chance
to pick this up.

If anyone out there has the urge to fix this and create a pull request,
that would be a Good Thing™.

(Perhaps switch to GPars Users mailing list?)

This seems to be rather urgent since I couldn't get hold of the 0.7-RC-1 jar any more (it's not included in groovy 2.1.3).
I could give the upgrade a try but not before June.

I just checked, and I failed to commit any of my tinkerings; my
update-dependencies branch only has the actual switch of Multiverse
artefact. It is thus worse than useless :-(

Unless we can get this fixed at the Gr8Conf EU 2013 Hackergarten (I
assume there is one). I have no time till August :-((

I think it may actually be a good fit for the Hackergarten.
